Privacy

Last updated 8 September 2026.

Traverso is a map-based adventure journal at traverso.app. This page explains what we store and why.

Account

Sign-in is handled by Auth0. We keep an app user id, your Auth0 subject, email, and the display name and photo Auth0 sends. We do not get your password.

Adventures and photos

Routes, elevation, photo memories, and share links you save are stored in our PostgreSQL database. Photos are stored in S3-compatible object storage on the Traverso servers. Photos are scoped to your account and are not public unless you share a route.

Strava

If you connect Strava, we store tokens so we can list and import your activities when you ask. We do not post to Strava or share athlete data with anyone else. Disconnect Strava from Profile to delete those tokens.

Location

The locate control uses your device location only to center the map. We do not log or store a location trail.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Retention

Saved adventures stay until you delete them or close the account. Drafts can also live in your browser. To delete your account and stored files, email [email protected].
